Junior Staff Accountant

This role is onsite at our Headquarters in Fort Mill, SC.

We are currently seeking a team member who believes in the “extra mile” philosophy to fulfill our Junior Staff Accountant role. The Junior Staff Accountant will support the month-end close process by preparing and entering journal entries and assisting with general ledger account reconciliations. Depending on assignment, the role may also include applying customer payments, researching and resolving payment discrepancies, and supporting reconciliation of cash activity to the bank and general ledger.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries
  • Support general ledger account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Depending on assignment, prepare and post customer payments (checks, deposits, credit cards, ACH) using automated platforms or manual entry; research and resolve payment discrepancies; administer customer payment systems; and process returned (NSF) checks
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
  • Provide general accounting support across the department as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and validate financial data
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting workflows
  • Support audit activities by preparing schedules and gathering information
  • Assist with year-end close, including reconciliations, reporting, and audit preparation

Education or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliation, or month-end close activities

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure, deadlines, and time constraints
  • Close attention to detail and exceptional math and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and an aptitude to learn new software quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with a strong customer service orientation
  • Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated, able to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision
  • Proficient with 10-key and capable of operating standard office equipment
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and client contacts
  • Familiarity with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and deadlines
  • Willingness and flexibility to work overtime as needed

This position is based at the company’s corporate office and will be onsite. The majority of this position will consist of normal office tasks and interaction amongst peers and Snider branches.
