We are currently seeking a team member who believes in the “extra mile” philosophy to fulfill our Local Truck Delivery Driver role.

The Local Truck Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering and picking up Snider customer tires and wheels while operating a Truck with a capacity up to 26,000 pounds. The Delivery Driver will pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules set by the warehouse supervisor. Safe driving, attention to detail, effective communication, and thoroughness are required in order to ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and safely.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day:

• Operate up to a 26-foot truck and deliver commercial tires/wheels class 5 through 8, as well as other items to customers.
• Must maintain a safe and clean driving record.
• Responsible for executing client delivery schedules, proper loading and unloading, and obtaining signed paperwork in order to provide Snider branch, etc.
• Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance, and equipment inventory levels on a truck, as well as, on person.
• Assist supervisor with planning routes to ensure that deliveries are completed in the most efficient manner.
• Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, the changes are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
• Effectively communicate any traffic violations, accidents, breakdowns, or delays in route to management and to customers.
• Accurately identify and enter tire casing information into electronic device using current Michelin mobile app (MRT Mobile Solutions), as well as properly barcode client’s tires and wheels and provide an email or printed copy of tire pick-up upon completion of work order.
• When available, assist with the scrap out analysis process for Snider customers.
• Interact with Snider Fleet Solutions customers and personnel on a daily basis.
• Conduct pre and post trip inspections to ensure that all mechanical systems are operating properly.
• Follow all safety rules, wear proper PPE, and demonstrate safety conscious mindset.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance, show up to work on time and in the correct uniform.

This position is based at the company’s corporate office. The majority of this position will consist of normal office tasks and interaction amongst peers and Snider branches. Overnight and out of market travel to other Snider locations and customers is more than 25%. When traveling to Snider locations, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts/equipment, fumes, or airborne particles, and the noise level is usually moderate to high.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Education or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Previous experience in similar role or industry is a plus.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid Class C Driver's License or state(s) equivalent and must be insurable to drive by company standards.
• DOT Medical Certification.
• Forklift certification, (obtained after employment).
• Commercial TIA certification preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• Ability to work nights and weekends; overnight travel may be required.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to use road maps, smart phones, and GPS devices.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints.
• Must be able to work in a results-oriented fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable and dependable with self-initiative.
• Safety conscious at all times.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills, as well as close attention to detail.
